Detroit Autoshow


General Motors received a welcoming present to kick off press these days for the 2008 North American International Auto Show, taking home the 2008 North American Car of the Year medal for the Chevrolet Malibu.

"The new Malibu is the best midsized car we've ever ," said Ed Peper, overall manager for Chevrolet, as he received the prize near the shiny blue Malibu on exhibition.

The Malibu is made in Orion Township and in Fairfax, Kan. It's a unlimited looking conduit," Peper said. "It's got noble fuel budget. It's the quietest car in its class."

Last year, GM won North American Car and Truck of the Year for the Saturn Aura and the Chevrolet Silverado.

Cadillac exec talks Flint
